Kittens, Puppies, Sunsets, Sex

A 1 track leftfield/idm single (5m 4s) — released June 15th 2015 on Bomb Shop

Kittens, Puppies, Sunsets, Sex is the second hint at Ambrosia(@)'s forthcoming album, slated for release in June 2015. Following the decayed cloud rap of These Two Thoughts (http://www.bombshop.org/ambrosia-chung), this new burst is an unhinged harcore lullaby, skittering lightspeed breaks carrying ecstatic electrons and protons towards some sort of cosmic fusion event. The track has been forming a mental climax to the duo's face-melting live set, with UK and European performances coming up.

Birchall and Faraday also run Fuse Art Space in Bradford, and this single has an accompanying video created from footage of Fuse's interactive exhibition DRIFT - an immersive, synaesthetic experience in which movement and sound created by participants is translated into complex hallucinogenic patterns and matrices.

Ambrosia(@)'s back story is complicated. The duo first emerged in 2010 with a series of drone tapes packaged in ZX81 cases with defaced inlays, each one equally unique, puerile and mildly offensive. Then came the intense Hysteria Siberiana, with its sheet noise pressure, monolithic bass and enormous harmonic structures. This aggressive yet blissful approach translated flawlessly into a live format, and the band shared stages with High Wolf, Maria Minerva, Female Band, Blue Daisy and others. A growing interest in field recordings led to 2012's Pevensey NLZ, a long-form study in coastal sound processed into ephemera and noise. Airplay on 6 Music and Late Junction alongside coverage in Foxy Digitalis, Wire Magazine and Decoder shored up a burgeoning reputation for no-compromise experimentation.
